This is my family!!! This is my amazing husband, Chris, and our 3 beautiful babies. I’m a mommy to Christina (our 7 year old daughter), Christian (our 4 year old son), and Christopher (our 2 year old son). They are our entire world, and we love them so much!
My family is literally my reason for pushing myself beyond imposter syndrome and fear! I’ve had this idea of launching this line for years. But my nerves, procrastination, fear, and doubt kicked in. Better late than never though! Right?
My daughter was a doll! After having her, my edges grew right on back! No issues. But those boys!!! My oldest son, Christian (who was 9lbs 9 oz btw) took ALL OF MY EDGES!! ALL OF THEM!! But I love him though! š And 2nd son, Christopher, did me in! I had no edges along ALONG WITH bald spots. BALD SPOTS!! So, yes it is true. Kids really do take everything!!
I have always made my own natural hair products. I went natural in 2007, my freshman year of college. After dealing with constant chemical burn from relaxers, I decided that I was never getting another perm. So, I wore braids throughout my 4 years at LSU. Geaux Tigers! I didn’t know what to do with my hair whenever I took out my braids, so I kept my hair braided. And it grew like crazy!
When I finally took my braids out, I had all this hair, and I didn’t know how to comb or style it. I decided to learn how to do my natural hair, so I began researching online, watching videos, and mixing products. I have a science background in chemistry and laboratory research. So, formulating products feels natural to me. I finally found some ingredients that worked well with my hair, and I have been making my own products for years.
My daughter loves helping me make oils, serums, styling creams, butters, lotions, and soap. And one day, after watching me create and package products that I was too scared to put out into the world, she asked me, “Mommy when are you going to start selling your products?” Me not wanting to disappoint her said, “Soon baby. Soon“. So, here we are!!
There is something about not wanting to disappoint your children. So, here we are! I’m putting myself out into the world. Completely scared! But a promise is a promise! Here goes sweet girl!
And here is my baby boy, Christopher. He was 1 here. Now, he’s 2 walking, talking, and getting into everything! But I love this picture. He took my edges too, y’all!! But I forgive him! He was 8 pounds 11 ounces! I’m kinda open to one more, but my husband said IS NOT!! lol So, this might be my last baby.
Childbirth is beautiful, but postpartum can be so hard on our bodies. I breastfed all of my babies for a year, and I am so proud of this. However, postpartum recovery can take a toll on our bodies, our hair, and our weight. If no one has told you, you’re doing a good job! All your sacrifices, late nights, breastfeeding, formula feeding, doctor appointments, fluctuating weight, and hormone changes MATTER! ALL OF IT MATTERS! So good job!!
And if you’re struggling with postpartum shedding, balding, breakage, or shedding, I hope our products can help restore not only your hair follicles but also your confidence . You are loved!
