How to Restore Dry and Brittle Hair
If you find yourself with dry and brittle hair (which no one wants), here are some ways you can restore moisture to your hair:
Drink Plenty of Water
Our bodies are composed of about 60% water, so it’s kinda hard to have hydrated hair without drinking water. So, make sure you stay hydrated.
Trim Your Ends
Trim your ends regularly to get rid of split ends. Just like plants require pruning for growth, our hair requires regular trims. If you want your hair to grow, then you must prune it.
Limit Heat
Heat styling can obviously dry out your hair. If you are experiencing brittle hair, then try to minimize the use of blow dryers, flat irons, and curling irons. If you choose to straighten your hair, definitely apply a heat protectant spray or serum before styling. No one wants heat damage! It’s the worst!
Avoid Products with Harsh Chemicals
Avoid products with harsh sulfates and parabens. These chemicals strip your hair and coat it with polymers giving the appearance of health. However, your hair is left exposed and weak.
Don’t Forget to Condition Your Hair
The hair washing process can be time consuming. Sometimes, we may be tempted to simply “cleanse” our hair without conditioning our follicles. Don’t do it! After each shampoo, it is important that you restore moisture to your newly cleansed hair. Depending on the shampoo, it can be leave your hair stripped of its moisture and natural oils. So, it is imperative that you condition your hair after each shampoo to help restore moisture to your newly cleansed hair follicles.
Balanced Diet
Diet is essential to healthy hair. Your body needs vital nutrients and minerals to promote blood circulation and to avoid inflammation of the scalp. If your diet does not include a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and biotin, then it is essential that you supplement with a multivitamin.
Our Restorative Growth Serum
And of course, you have us here to help! Our serum primarily serves as a sealant to help lock in moisture and essential minerals from oils to help restore moisture and to help grow your hair.
Please be patient as you work to restore your hair. A full recovery will not happen overnight, so give yourself lots of grace. Practice a consistent hair routine, and give it time. If the damage is extreme, please consult a licensed cosmetologist or dermatologist.
